J. Rachel Gustafson
Senior Account Executive
J. Rachel Gustafson joined CoreMessage in May 2007 and has worked with clients to develop
strategic communications plans and execute initiatives ranging from community outreach efforts
and stakeholder relations to event planning and internal communication assessments. In her role
as account executive, Rachel assisted in organizing press logistics and coverage for all events
leading up to the 2007 Republican Presidential debates for both Fox News and CNN/YouTube.
The combined events garnered over 43 million media impressions throughout Florida’s ten media
markets and across the nation.
In April 2008, Rachel was promoted to senior account executive where she assisted in the
execution of the Explore Adoption campaign, a public awareness initiative aimed to promote
public adoption and encourage Floridians to adopt children from their own communities. As an
Explore Adoption team member, Rachel conducting casting and assisted in producing five
television and three radio public service announcements, generated earned media and facilitated
community partnership efforts.
Prior to joining the CoreMessage team, Rachel served as the public outreach coordinator at the
Claude Pepper Museum & Library at Florida State University, where she worked to increase
museum admission through earned media tactics and facilitating special events.
Rachel graduated from Florida State University’s College of Communication with a bachelor’s in
public relations and was presented with the College’s Academic Leadership Award.
